After a simple
assembly, this plastic model can be twisted
into a double helix. Instead of building
it around a center post like other DNA models,
this unique design can be used "to demonstrate
separation (3.2MB
video). Each of the four nitrogenous
bases comes in a different unlabeled color,
so students can design their own base pair
coding.
The
model is removable from the plastic base
and can be extended to its full length and
laid flat. Appropriate for classes at every
grade level.
